Base Level Performance

The Mercedes-Benz base-level C 300 sedan is configured with rear-wheel drive. The competing Audi A4 model, the Ultra Premium sedan, is a forward-wheel drive vehicle. The C 300 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine putting out 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The A4 has a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine with 190 horsepower, 236 lb-ft of torque and a 7-speed automatic. Both models come standard with 17-inch wheels. The C 300 has a bigger gas tank and a smaller turning diameter.

Variety

If you prefer driving a two-door vehicle, the A4 simply won’t do. However, the C 300 is available as a Coupe or Cabriolet, in either AWD or RWD versions. The C-Class Coupe is equipped with blind-spot monitoring and a rearview camera. The C-Class Cabriolet adds the Airscarf system to keep you warm, and an automatic trunk separator

Features

The base C 300 Sedan provides standard features that the base A4 that are either optional or not available. These features include run-flat tires, twin projector bean halogen headlights, front power memory seats, wood trim, front passenger power lumbar support, CD player, Internet services, front dual power headrests, emergency SOS, roadside assistance telematics system with vehicle location system, front airbag deactivation, rear side airbags, stolen vehicle tracking and first aid kit. C 300 options you can’t get on the base A4 include cooled front seats, power sunshades for the rear window and roof, intelligent cruise control, navigation with voice activation, electronic trunk lid, and rear electronic parking aid with camera.
