What’s New for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB?
The Mercedes-Benz GLB is a luxury SUV that rises to meet drivers’ expectations for elite features and spirited handling. Originally launched in 2020, the 2024 GLB is also a part of the model’s first generation. This crossover sits between the subcompact GLA and the midsize GLC in the current Mercedes-Benz lineup, bringing several notable updates to the latest model year.
Thanks to its compact yet upright stature, the 2024 GLB is easy to identify in the lineup. It displays updates to its taillights, headlights, and bumpers for the 2024 model year. At the front, the headlights are angled rectangles with a thick LED light bar at the top. The grille has a stardust mesh with a unique crossbar design. The lower fascia flares outward on the sides and boasts captivating air vents. On the rear, the taillights are engaging with a pair of segmented light bars. The rear bumper has a pair of oval-shaped exhaust tips.
Inside, the 2024 GLB takes on a modernized look with arched accent lighting, aeronautic air vents, and chrome accents. The GLB’s optional 10.3-inch central display screen will become standard in 2024 and will be loaded with updated infotainment system software. If you choose the AMG® GLB model, your GLB will not have a standard heated steering wheel.
Another exciting update for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB is the 48-volt hybrid-assist system, available on the GLB 250 and the GLB 250 4MATIC®. The powertrain is a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo engine paired with an eight-speed automatic, dual-clutch transmission. It produces 221 horsepower. A high-performance variation of this engine is available in the AMG® GLB 35, and it gives off 302 horsepower. The GLB 250 has front-wheel drive, while the other trim levels have 4MATIC® all-wheel drive.
The other aspects of the 2024 GLB are identical to last year’s GLB. The entry-level trim comes with 64-color ambient lighting, heated seats, a power liftgate, front-row memory settings, reclining rear seats, natural voice recognition, USB-C ports, a touch-sensing steering wheel, a 10.25-inch driver’s gauge cluster, driver attention sensing, forward collision mitigation, a wireless charging pad, parking assistance, a touch control pad, a blind-spot warning, and several additional features. Higher trims may also have a premium audio system, paddle shifters, a 360-degree camera, and numerous other high-end features.
